Combat Fly Fishing School!
Whether you are a beginner or expert, if you are serious about wanting to learn or advance in the art of fly fishing and want to jump in with both feet, this is the class for you. These classes are held in North Ga. & Southwest Va. by "Master Fly Fisherman" Erik Ashlin. Basically how it works is you will be spending 3-4 nights & 4-5 days at one of our cabin locations with Mr. Ashlin as he teaches according to your experience level. With 35 years experience Mr. Ashlin will show you everything it takes to be succesfull at the art of fly fishing. Entomology/Fly tying sessions are also a part of this class, as we will be tying flies to fish with after each day of fishing. The bottom line is we will be living, eating, & breathing all angles of fly fishing for the duration of the class.
Pricing below will cover class teachings, lodging, meals, the use of rods & reels, flies, fly tying material, waders if needed, leaders & tippet material, and any trophy trout fees. State fishing lisences & Transportation to and from the cabin are not included but can be arranged at booking. All students will recieve a free gift at the completion of each class. Learn the Art of Fly fishing
Fly fishing is a very challenging and rewarding sport to all that pursue this wonderful outdoor activity. It is equally suitable to young and old, male or female and can be enjoyed for a lifetime. Fly fishing can bond families and friends together in a healthy productive outdoor pursuit and it also teaches good ethics, patience, integrity, and strength of character.
Our instructor and "Master Fly-Fisherman" Erik Ashlin works with each individual to take them to the next level of casting flies and catching fish. Some of the topics that are covered in our classes are....Different casting strokes, accuracy, knots, equipment, fly rods, fly reels, fly lines and leaders. You will also learn about different fish species,entomology, fly selection, reading water and approach.
Classes are held in Ellijay and at Appalachian Technical College. See class schedules below. Private lessons are available at $50 per hour with a 3 hour min.
Appalachian Technical College Class Schedule
Classes consist of two hours on Wed. evenings from 6:00pm to 8:00pm for 4 weeks with a total of 8+ hours. Space is limited per class, so give Appalachian Tech a call to reserve your spot to learn the wonderful art of fly fishing.

Ellijay/Blue Ridge Class Schedule
Classes are held at 25 Jesses Way Blue Ridge Ga. 30513 every Sunday. Weekly classes are available upon request.
Half day class: $125
Full day class: $250 (Lunch included)
Half day casting and half day fly fishing $350 (Lunch included)
Fly Tying Classes.
Our fly tying classes are held in Ellijay Ga. Call for exact location. Classes are held every Thur. evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. All tools and material are on site, but feel free to bring your own.
One night a week for four weeks: $150
Two nights a week for two weeks: $150
Add $75 to either class and receive a fly tying kit with everything you need to be a master fly tier.
